Seminar on “Understanding Research Priorities Related to Health SDGs in Nepal”

Nepal Public Health Foundation organized a seminar on 20th September 2024, under The Global Health Network Project titled “Understanding Research Priorities Related to Health SDGs in Nepal.” The event brought together leading experts from various health sectors to share their insights on different health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The seminar aimed to identify key research priorities in relation to these health SDGs, encouraging collaboration and progress toward achieving these global goals in Nepal.
Dr. Meghnath Dhimal, Chief and Senior Research Officer at the Nepal Health Research Council, led the discussion on the Environmental Health theme. Dr. Swaraj Rajbhandari, a Senior Obstetrician and Gynecologist, contributed his expertise on the Maternal and Neonatal Health theme. Dr. Janak Koirala, Professor of Medicine and Infectious Disease, shared his knowledge on the theme of Infectious Diseases. For the theme of Mental Health and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), Prof. Dr. Jagadish Prasad Agrawal, Former Dean of the Institute of Medicine, offered valuable insights, while Dr. Puspa Prasad Sharma, Professor and Chair of Psychiatry at KIST Medical College, specifically addressed the Mental Health theme. Dr. Akritee Pokharel, Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology, rounded out the panel with her expertise on the Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety theme.
