The paper “Barriers to using trained birth attendants’ services in mild and far western Nepal” by Choulagai et al. appeared in the print version of BMC International Health and Human Rights in 2013.
The study was done to evaluate the parameters associated with the utilization of Skilled Birth Attendants services in Mid and Far Western Nepal. SBAs (skilled birth attendants) offer crucial interventions that raise mother and newborn health and lower mortality rates. However, particularly in Nepal’s rural and remote areas, inadequate service coverage and utilization by SBAs continue. The cross-sectional study concentrated on three remote and secluded districts in Mid and Far West Nepal, which represented ecological zones where SBAs rarely accessed services.
