Dr. Rajendra Kumar BC

Dr. Rajendra Kumar BC holds Master’s Degree in Nutritional Biochemistry from MS University of Baroda, India, and PhD degree in Tropical Medicine from Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand in the year 2003. He has a long history of working (24 years) in the variety of health, nutrition and development sectors, and has extensive experiences in conducting and leading variety of projects in Nepal as well as fostering linkages & establishing a very good networking & coordination between government, non-government, development partners and academic institutions. He is an experienced professional with a particularly strong expertise in health research methods along with data management and analysis (quantitative as well as qualitative). He has a broad range of advisory/ supervisory/ coordinating experiences in dealing with the variety of health, nutrition, and related research projects/programs/activities including COVID-19.

Previously he is the one who extensively worked on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) for health and nutrition sectors and also on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for overall sectors with the support from National Planning Commission (NPC)/UNDP. He has also been involved in assessing “national level preparedness for implementing the health-related SDGs in seven south Asian countries”. His work on MDGs and SDGs has been acknowledged in the various publications made by NPC. Apart from these, he was also involved in preparing national level research guidelines (especially research ethics), strategy, policy for conducting health research in Nepal and policy briefs. He has also conducted various kinds of health related research trainings (basic to advanced level) in various kinds of institutions in Nepal.
