Session on the Qualitative Research Study Methodology

Staffs and interns at Nepal Public Health Foundation attended a two-day session on the qualitative research study methodology by Dr. Aditi Sharma Research Scientist at Research in Child Health Lab, Department of Pediatrics, Stanford University. The session was highly informative and interactive, with staff engaging in insightful discussions and practical exercises to deepen their understanding of qualitative research methods.

Discussion Meeting with Dr. Anand Ballabh Joshi

Nepal Public Health Foundation had a productive discussion meeting with Dr. Anand Ballabh Joshi from the Public Health and Infectious Disease Research Center PHIDReC. As an expert in epidemiology, infectious diseases, vector-borne and communicable diseases, and health research, his insights were invaluable. It was a pleasure having him at our office.

Discussion between NPHF, One Heart Nepal and Medic Nepal

We at the Nepal Public Health Foundation were honored to welcome Dr. Niraj Kumar Nakarmi and Dr. Jagannath Bista from Medic Nepal, along with Dr. Surya Bhatta from One Heart Nepal, and Dr. Swaraj Rajbhandari for an insightful and enriching discussion. Their presence and expertise significantly contributed to our ongoing efforts in enhancing our initiatives on Maternal and Neonatal Health.

Nepal Public Health Foundation 15th Lecture Series

Nepal Public Health Foundation (NPHF) successfully organized the 15th NPHF Lecture Series on June 30, 2024. We were deeply honored to have Dr. Rajesh Sambhajirao Pandav, the esteemed WHO Representative to Nepal, as our keynote speaker.

Dr. Pandav graciously shared his valuable insights on the topic “Lagging Investment in Public Health: ‘Health for All’ Remains an Elusive Goal.” Dr. Pandav’s remarkable contributions to public health have been a source of inspiration for many.

 

Gratitude to Dr. Badri Raj Pandey for His Exceptional Contributions to Nepal Public Health Foundation

We, Nepal Public Health Foundation team would like to extend our heartfelt and sincere gratitude to Dr. Badri Raj Pandey for his invaluable effort, contribution, and guidance as our Advisor since the foundation’s inception. His unwavering dedication, support, and commitment have been instrumental in our journey, shaping the path of our organization’s success and growth.

Dr. Badri Raj Pandey, a revered pediatrician and esteemed public health expert, has devoted nearly six decades to enhancing healthcare in Nepal, leading numerous significant health initiatives. His leadership in national polio eradication committees and founding pivotal health organizations such as Nepal Eye Hospital and Nepal Pediatric Society underscore his significant contributions. During his distinguished government tenure from 1959 to 1988, he played pivotal roles in developing Nepal’s first health plan and extending essential services to remote regions, leaving an indelible legacy of health equity and innovation.

We deeply appreciate his continued involvement and steadfast encouragement.

FHEN Annual Review Program

The Farming, Health and Environment Nepal (FHEN) Phase III project, a collaboration between Nepal Public Health Foundation (NPHF) and International Centre for Occupational Health, Environment and Public Health (ICOEPH), successfully completed its third year and shared the overall project’s progress and impacts at its Annual Review Program.
The program was attended by Central Steering Committee Members of FHEN, FHEN team members, and NPHF central staff.
FHEN aims to improve the health of farmers and consumers by promoting healthy and sustainable food production in Nepal, focusing on the Chitwan District. The project has adopted multisector approaches to all its activities, including community interventions like Integrated Pest Management Farmer’s Fields Schools (IPM-FFS), training to target groups, and research to raise awareness and advocacy.
